The Venetian Resort Las Vegas Brings Venice Beach to The Strip with Opening of Gjelina

Press Releases

A Key Pillar of the Resort's $1.5B Reinvestment Project, the Legendary Property Doubles Down on Food & Beverage with Latest West Coast Concept

LAS VEGAS, June 5, 2024
– The Venetian Resort Las Vegas unveils plans to add beloved Venice Beach produce-forward concept, Gjelina to its illustrious food and beverage offerings later this year.

This addition further solidifies The Venetian Resort as the culinary destination in Las Vegas. Gjelina joins the resort’s collection of more than thirty restaurants which include chef-driven concepts from a stacked roster of industry veterans such as Thomas Keller, Wolfgang Puck, and Tetsuya Wakuda, as well as Lorena Garcia, Emeril Lagasse, and Eyal Shani.

“Gjelina marks a new class of culinary talent at The Venetian as we continue to position our resort as the ultimate food destination in a constantly evolving market,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, Patrick Nichols. “Gjelina’s farm-to-table dining experience is a perfect match for our sustainability commitment as we work together with local purveyors to bring the freshest ingredients to the Las Vegas Strip.”

This Vegas outpost marks the third restaurant location for Gjelina, a SoCal staple renowned nationally for its locally sourced dishes. Gjelina, named after founder Fran Camaj’s mother, is built on the foundation of family. Gjelina Group creates hospitality experiences delivered from a place of purpose and driven by simplicity. When the original location opened out of Fran’s apartment on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice Beach in 2008, it set the standard for sustainable restaurant practices and remains the premier case study for sustainable dining today. Since its original Venice Beach location, Gjelina Group has unveiled Gjusta, an all-day cafe named after Camaj’s aunt, followed by Gjusta Goods, Gjusta Grocer and most recently, Gjelina New York City.

The Gjelina Group and Bishop Pass designed the space, which will be located in the heart of Restaurant Row.

“The Venetian has offered us an opportunity to expand our footprint & learn from their support and expertise as we actively look to take Gjelina into new markets" says Shelley Armistead, partner and CEO of Gjelina Group. “As we embark on this growth, we’re eager to bring our relaxed Venice Beach sensibility to the bustling atmosphere of The Venetian Resort.”

Featuring the concept’s distinct Californian cuisine in a unique dining experience in Las Vegas, the new Gjelina location will follow the same menu format and sourcing initiatives as Los Angeles and New York City and is excited to be able to put more dollars directly into farmers pockets. Guests can make reservations throughout the day with Gjelina offering seating for lunch and dinner.
