Nomikai Sushi Bar Debuts At The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
Nomikai Sushi Bar Now Open; Nomikai Sushi Restaurant and Speakeasy to Follow Later This Spring
LAS VEGAS (March 17, 2025) – The sushi bar at Nomikai, the latest dining destination at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is now open. Bringing the spirited magic of Tokyo direct to the Las Vegas Strip, Nomikai is inspired by the beloved Japanese tradition of its namesake, where friends and colleagues come together to enjoy food and drinks in a vibrant setting. Offering two distinct experiences, part intimate sushi restaurant and speakeasy, part lively sushi counter, the latter is now open within the resort’s iconic Restaurant Row.
Welcome to Nomikai’s sushi bar, elevated quick-service dining at its finest, offering freshly cut rolls, sashimi and nigiri sliced to perfection by expert sushi chefs. With seating for up to 20 guests, Nomikai’s sushi bar is the perfect location for those seeking quick, convenient, deliciously crafted rolls and a crisp pour — whether on your way to or from a show, before or after a meeting, or for a quick solo bite. With the freshest fish flown in daily from California and Japan, menu favorites include the Miso Black Cod Roll, Toro Caviar Roll, Dungeness Crab Roll and Yellowtail Serrano Sashimi. To further complement the experience, and to imbibe in true Nomikai fashion, guests can enjoy the Plum Salt Air Margarita, Sangria Cooler, Sparkling Yuzu Sake, Nitro Matcha On-Tap and an assortment of Japanese beer.
At the culinary helm of Nomikai is Master Sushi Chef Sitsuji Mitsui, who brings his rich Japanese heritage and culinary expertise to the restaurant’s menu. He is joined by identical twins Yongju An (Nick), serving as Culinary Director, and Yongjun An (Jun), Executive Sous Chef, both of whom have a background from the prestigious Mokpo Culinary School in Korea. Collectively, Nomikai’s culinary team has represented some of the most celebrated and awarded sushi restaurants in Las Vegas, including Nobu, Blue Ribbon Sushi, SUSHISAMBA, Yu or Mi Sushi, Catch and more.
“Nomikai is true to its spirit, marrying food and connection in a way that we know will resonate with our guests,” said Julian Griffiths, senior vice president of food and beverage for The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. “True to The Venetian Resort’s dedication to bringing innovative culinary concepts to life, whether grabbing a roll at the sushi bar or enjoying dinner with friends over spirits in the speakeasy, Nomikai’s inspired culinary team combines world-class sushi with an exceptional cocktail program, creating a sense of discovery for every guest.”
Additionally, Nomikai offers its To Go window, serving signature menu items including freshly cut rolls and the Tuna Poke Bowl with avocado, cucumber, togarashi, spicy mayo, wakame and seaweed salad, in easy-to-grab takeaway boxes for those on the go.
Opening later this Spring, just beyond the sushi bar and down an unassuming hallway, guests will discover Nomikai’s sushi restaurant and speakeasy. A true hidden gem, the cozy, jewel-box space features 50 seats, including plush booths, intimate tables, a cocktail bar, and a private dining room. Featuring an innovative take on traditional Japanese cuisine, Nomikai’s speakeasy will also feature an extensive mixology program.
Nomikai’s sushi bar is now open, with its sushi restaurant and speakeasy expected to debut in late April. Nomikai is the latest addition to The Venetian Resort’s expanded culinary lineup, which coincides with its $1.5 billion reinvestment project.
